Digital Media Academy Animation School - Animation Programs for Adults:

Digital Media Academy Animation School animation training teaches character animation and visual effects, a solid foundation to animation training.  Animation is all about bringing things to life, and Maya is the gold standard in 3D animation. If you are looking for an animation school, this animation program is very popular.  This animation course focuses on the basics of Maya’s incredible animation toolset. The traditional principles of animation are outlined to help you understand how to create character movement that appeals to your audience. This animation training uses pre-modeled and rigged characters, where we manipulate keyframes and function curves for believable motion. You will learn animation time-honored techniques such as pose-to-pose and layered keyframing, where you will build up a library of character animation, including walk cycles and free-form expressive movement.

In animation school, Character movement is one aspect of animation, but there’s another world of animation waiting to be explored: visual effects. Any animation task that would be too complex to keyframe by hand is a good candidate for a dynamic simulation, which you will learn in this animation program. Examples include colliding objects, hair, cloth, and liquid or gaseous effects. In this animation training course, we also take an introductory look at Maya’s excellent tools for 3D dynamic effects such as fire and smoke. With both character animation and visual effects under your belt, you’ll have a solid understanding of the range of possibilities in Maya.
