What happens at Cybercamps Academy?
Here’s some info on what happens at Cybercamps Academy. This is an email I just received from the Cybercamps staff. My son is off at Cybercamps UCLA this week, and the staff sends a daily email and photo gallery for me to keep up to date. Sure looks like they’re having fun at camp!
“Of course the projects are only a part of the many things we’re learning here. While those technology skills are critical, in the 21st century our kids will need to have become talented problem solvers and critical thinkers, they need to have practice with collaboration and communication skills, be flexible and creative thinkers, and work well with others showing accountability to their teams. Our kids need to be encouraged when they take initiative and show self-direction and praised for their productivity as they face a globally competitive future. Your choice to send them to the Cybercamps Academy will help them in more ways then just to learn some new software. Here at the Academy we are on the look-out to reinforce those skills that will make a real difference in your child’s future!”

Cybercamps is the most amazing camp I have worked with. From the top down we are all gifted mentors who really enjoy working with youth and giving them a positive time in the summer. Often campers who don’t always have the most positive times at school come here to find that they have found their people and are not alone!

Cybercamps is for campers of all types, gamers, designers and creators. They offer lots of courses and there is no need to have prior experience in anything. The staff is amazing and will help guide campers through the course and make their camp experience a memorable one. Cybercamps is definitely one of the best ways to spend a week or more during the summer!

Thanks Johnny and Lewis! You two are awesome as the summer camp director and assistant director for the UCLA Cybercamps summer camps! Glad you had fun at summer camp, Scot! (my son!) I enjoyed coming to the Giant Campus Family Ceremony today and seeing all the campers’ presentations! One thing that I took away from the end of camp event was your presentation on learning - Cybercamps teaches kids how to learn…. What a concept, that we need to learn how to learn! It’s great that you address the foundation for learning. And when you mentioned that the way technology is evolving so quickly it’s likely that the software the kids are learning today will be replaced by different software by the time these kids are in college - so learning how to learn seems very important!
